Sophie Abououf
Trainee
Sophie is a trainee solicitor in our Property division based in Highgate. She joined Streathers in May 2022 and is an integral part of the team.
Sophie primarily works within residential conveyancing.
Following on from graduating with a Bachelor of Laws from Birkbeck University of London, Sophie is currently undertaking the Solicitors Qualification Examinations with a masters in Laws at the University of Law.

Felix Appelbe
Partner
Felix joined Streathers as a Partner in December 2019. He was previously a Senior Partner and then Consultant of Ambrose Appelbe Solicitors in Lincoln’s Inn before becoming a Consultant of BDB Pitmans based in Westminster from 2014.
After completing a Degree in Rural Estate Management, Felix qualified in 1972. He has a vast amount of experience as a private client solicitor. Felix is also a farmer and a passionate conservationist who has both advised and founded a wide range of charities including the following:

The Contributive Society;
Ocean Ambassadors.

Charlotte Baden-Powell
Senior Partner
Charlotte is a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), the industry gold standard for Wills and Trusts lawyers, and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She also holds the STEP Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Private Wealth Advice, the most advanced qualification in the STEP framework.
Heading up the Hampstead Private Client department, Charlotte works across the North London offices and specialises in Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney (including Business Lasting Powers of Attorney) and all related areas of asset protection, inheritance tax and estate planning. Drawing on her solid background in psychology and finance, Charlotte also has a keen interest in facilitating multi-generational family business clients through effective and harmonious succession planning.

Yasmin Benlafk

Yasmin qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and joined Streathers in 2022. Yasmin is a leasehold enfranchisement solicitor working across its North London offices.
Yasmin specialises in leasehold enfranchisement including lease extensions and collective claims to acquire the freehold, acting for both landlords and tenants.

Lisa Bolgar Smith
Partner
Lisa joined Streathers as a Consultant in 2019, having previously been Senior and Managing Partner of Ambrose Appelbe in Lincoln’s Inn. Following this she became a Partner of BDB Pitmans based in Westminster from 2014 before becoming a Consultant.

Roger Boustred

Roger joined us as a solicitor in our private client department in 2018, having previously been a partner in the family firm of Henry Boustred and Sons in Highgate. Qualified in 1980, Roger has considerable experience in:

Alicia Cenizo
Partner
Alicia joined Streathers in 2014 to head up our family department in the West End, becoming a partner in 2016. She has specialist accreditation as a member of Resolution and her expertise include all aspects of divorce and family law. Alicia advises her clients in a constructive manner with a view to directing the parties’ energies and costs towards the best outcome in all the circumstances.

Charlotte is a Paralegal in the Private Client department, having joined Streathers in July 2023.
Charlotte completed her undergraduate studies at Royal Holloway, University of London graduating in August 2020 with a degree in Criminology and Sociology. Charlotte then went on to complete her postgraduate Master of Arts in Law with the University of Law in Guildford, graduating in August 2021. Charlotte gained experience in the Litigation, Private Client and Conveyancing teams whilst undertaking studies for her LPC with the University of Law, graduating in October 2023.
Charlotte has an avid interest in contentious Private Client matters and is now gaining further experience assisting Gabriel Grant and the wider Highgate Private Client team with Contentious and Non-Contentious Probates.

James Danaher

James joined Streathers as a trainee in 2001, qualifying into the property department where he has been a partner since 2010. James was appointed senior partner in 2021 and he is also the firm’s anti-money laundering compliance and reporting officer and the compliance officer for legal practice.

Chris Daynes
Senior partner
Chris joined Streathers as a trainee in 2005 and qualified into the Private Client department at the firm’s West End office in 2007. In 2010 Chris co-founded the firm’s first North London office and is now Senior Partner of the firm’s network of North London offices in Hampstead, Highgate and Crouch End.
Chris works primarily from the Crouch End office and specialises in the following areas:

Philip Deja
Managing Partner
Philip joined Streathers in 2012 and became a partner in 2016. He heads up Streathers’ corporate and commercial practice and is now Managing Partner of the firm’s network of North London offices.
Previously, Philip trained, qualified and practised for about 5 years at a large international law firm in the City, where he advised a variety of UK and multi-national business clients (including some of the world’s leading brands).
Philip is now based at Streathers’ Hampstead office and advises businesses, charities and individuals on the following specialist areas:

Gabriel Grant

Gabriel heads up the Private Wealth Disputes and Probate teams at Streathers. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in these fields and his broad Chancery practice encompasses probate, trusts and estates matters, both contentious and non-contentious.
Gabriel has been involved in a wide range of highly complex disputes in which he has acted for trustees, beneficiaries and others.
Gabriel has experience of disputes before all levels of the judiciary from the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) to the Country Court to the UK Supreme Court.
Gabriel offers the highest quality legal, practical and commercial advice for both domestic and international clients, be they families and individuals, families, executors, trustees, beneficiaries, entrepreneurs or companies.
Clients value Gabriel’s ability to provide sound strategic advice, using his knowledge of one area of law to inform another. He has developed a formidable reputation for effective negotiation and being able to secure the best outcome on clients’ behalf. He has developed a niche in the area of cryptocurrency, in particular issues relating to the control and ownership of cryptoassets, tracing cryptoassets and fraud relating to cryptoassets.
He has also established an insolvency practice which focuses on bona vacantia cases involving disclaimer, vesting orders and escheat.
Gabriel’s varied practice also means he can advise on intellectual property matters and has experience with trademarks, passing off and copyright cases. Prior to joining Streathers Gabriel worked at the specialist IP firm Marks & Clerk Solicitors on patent, copyright and trademark litigation. Prior to this he started his legal career working at Leigh Day Solicitors on what was then the largest group action case in British legal history. Gabriel’s work proved pivotal to successes in a number of other prominent international human rights cases.

May Edobor

Annabel Humphreys
Solicitor
Annabel is a solicitor at Streathers in the Family team.
Annabel graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA Hons in Classics.
Following this, Annabel completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course with an MSc in Business and Law at the University of Law receiving a distinction in her Masters dissertation entitled ‘Cryptocurrencies have advanced the boundaries of current laws and compelled a changing approach to regulation’.
Annabel deals with high net worth individuals and assists with:

Annmarie joined Streathers’ Baker Street office in 2022.
Annmarie studied a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Law in Ireland before pursuing her legal career in London. She completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Westminster in 2009.
In 2017, Annmarie became a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the global professional body for Trust and Estate professionals. Annmarie recently enhanced her qualification with the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients and most recently the STEP Advanced Certificate in Cross Border Estates.
Annmarie specialises in the following areas:

Nadia Kohl
Partner
Nadia joined Streathers in 2015 and became a partner in the corporate and commercial department in 2022. She is also head of non-contentious employment at Streathers.
Nadia’s clients include start-ups, high net worth individuals, commercial property developers, SMEs and large private companies, who she advises on all aspects of their company commercial and employment requirements such as preparing companies for sale, making acquisitions, raising finance and providing commercial drafting solutions across a range of industries.
Nadia’s expertise includes:
Corporate Commercial
Mergers & Acquisitions: including asset and share sales and purchases. Nadia also advises on English and offshore corporate real estate transactions and all other corporate transactions.
Shareholder, Joint Venture & Investment Agreements: for individuals and companies within the financial, retail, leisure, property development and services industries (domestic and international). Nadia also drafts and negotiates non-disclosure agreements, heads of terms, investment agreements, development and LLP agreements, articles of association and the full suite of corporate documents including share option agreements (EMIs and non-tax advantageous schemes).
Facility & Security documents: Nadia has notable experience in dealing with institutional and private lenders for commercial, development and personal financing. Advised the buyer on the simultaneous acquisition of three aviation companies for £13m which included deferred consideration and assignments of loans to a Dutch holding company.

Simon joined Streathers in 2016 as a solicitor within our property department, becoming a partner in 2021.

Holly McIlroy
Head of Dispute Resolution
Holly is head of the dispute resolution department at Streathers, where she has worked for the past four years, applying her extensive experience in commercial and civil litigation acquired over the past decade.
She advises domestic and international private and corporate clients in a range of disputes including business disputes involving directors and shareholders, partnership disputes, commercial loans, specialist financial products, breach of contract claims, professional negligence, fraud, residential and commercial property claims and contracts for the supply of services.

Alex Prior

Alex joined Streathers in 2014 as a trainee solicitor undertaking work in property, private client, commercial and litigation matters before qualifying into the firm’s Private Client and Commercial department at Baker Street in 2016. Alex was appointed to the role of Senior Associate in 2021.
Previously, Alex read geography at Newcastle University before converting over to the law at BPP Law School in London.
